Royal Meats Bar B Que

The NW corner of Kipling and North Queen underwent major surgery in the summer of 2006 and the Royal Meats Bar B Que was born. A very unique gourmet grill spot with bold styling and flashy modern materials. The menu reflects the Serbian roots of the owners (part of the Royal Meats Butcher Empire in Mississauga). Sausages, Serbian Burgers, seasoned Chicken and pork cutlets and of course... Chevaps, a skinless mini burger sausage made with premium ground veal, pork and garlic - they are superb Serbian classics! The fries at Royal BBQ are nothing special but just about everything else is, including their signature Kaymak (cream cheese) and a delicious savoury onion / tomato relish (not sure of the exact name). Fresh baked Lepinas (soft buns) accompany all the sandwiches.
You Gotta admire the committment that the owners have made to the place with the ongoing renovations and even designing their own cool logo. Prices are not cheap but worth the associated value of tastiness.

ENJOY MANNN!

Magoos

Located at Dundas & Royal York... where every-body calls your na-aim... Magoos is one of the best burger joints in the GTA, possibly beyond.
You can't go wrong with anything you order there. Don't let the ridiculous terms throw you off - "Gooney / Goo Goo etc." - it's all Goo Good Goodness Burger-esque delights. "Get Back Magoo" is the name of their back bacon sandwich - delicious. The "Veggie Magoo" is a heavy, dense, well formed salad sandwich and the Chicken Magoo is a personal favourite. "Magoo sauce" and their Signature Bruscetta are popular condiments for any thing between buns. Fries are fantastic! Frozen yogurt is a hit with kids of all ages. Been consistent for around 20 years.

Emerald Inn Pub Kingsway

Had to grab a quick bite on the run - decided to 'roll the dice' and try the Emerald Inn Irish Pub on Bloor by Montgomery - Snake eyes! I'm sure this is a fine establishment for late evening guitar strumming entertainment and spoken word poetry (I will return to experience this) but not a master of culinary treats by any means. Clubhouse sandwich was off the mark - food service a bit disjointed although the waitress was very nice. A handful of other patrons were sipping beer and spirits but none were eating... hmmmm?... Prices weren't ridiculous but value is a factor.
